Abortion: The Lost Cradle.

Image
While growing up we were not really taught much about sex but we were constantly made to understand that ladies that had abortions were Bad! Bad!!.if I heard about this ladies I probably would have spat on them if they weren't older than me (that was how much they disgusted me) . This perspective followed me into my teenage years but not beyond. We are now in a regime(sounds serious) where everyone eyes is 'opened', where sex is the order of the day, if you tell a 16yr old girl to avoid sex there is a 20/80 percent chance she wouldn't listen ( I hope my younger ones listen ). Sex brings babies and like I said they have been falling from the sky fast, we aren't ready for babies, our baby daddies are ready yet, so what's the next option that pops to our mind?.....ABORTION! The formal definition for abortion is the act of inducing the cessation (ceasing/discontinuace) of pregnancy, we all know what it means but I feel like when ever it is being talked about we l...

Roles Reversed?: Ladies in pants,Men in skirts

I have been away for a while now (act like you noticed),lets just say there have been no activity down here. Anyway, things are looking up..i got my close friend back so I am blooming (lool). I hit blank for awhile but I have the best of friends ever so... Recently all I see around me are lazy guys(don't hang me yet),don't know if I am looking in the wrong places or maybe I am seeing more of ambitious ladies( shit has to be intimidating for them at times too). Now I can't say I am in the right position to talk about the 'roles' of the man in a household (I am not my mom) but from the preconceived notion, what we understand is that a woman takes care of the home and a man is responsible for her comfort(okay!,so my key point is 'financial ',sue me!). Now I am not saying it is necessarily a stag rule when it comes to dating, I am not saying that we haven't evolved yet but that notion is still the foundation (I am right). But a line in a Drake's trac...

Why me?, Why you??,Why us???

I was going to write about laziness (that defines me right now) but i changed my mind. One of my friend is going through something that i know one way or the  other we all have been through it (it is unique for everyone). Sometimes, some things happen that makes us question our faith. I am a ‘have faith’ kind of girl, i believe that anything that is suppose to happen would happen if God says ‘go ahead’. Why? Because i have seen people face hardship or difficult times and they have come out stronger, i have seen people scale mountains and realised it was their faith in the Lord that helped them scale through. Like I have read some where “The lord doesn’t burden us with more than we can handle” He knows we are capable of getting through any hardship he throws at us; the point now is we have to trust that he is right beside us and he knows what he is doing. I always tell my friend Kaffy a story i heard from an Imam when I was little : There was struggling mother(she was constan...

Baby?, are we ready yet?!

So I was with my girlfriend and her new baby a while ago (she is so darn happy and tired), I am starting to think of having a baby just for 'happy' sake, lool. Lately it seems like everyone is giving birth,it is like , they are suddenly falling from the sky. There is Eduntey,Mary,Motun,Kofo and many more (it's crazy) they are so frequent that I think God have an already made batch(hehehehe). I always wonder who the next person would be*thinky "Wande you be next O!'' is always the response of my mumu padi when ever we talk baby. it is like our time has come to start pro creating or is almost here. I am a lady so I am suppose to be ready but I am terrified of having a baby, the pains(chica is still gisting us), the stress(u wouldn't be able to sleep 6hours straight) plus they can be pretty annoying when they are grown. They say "Like poems, kids never make any sense and you have to pretend to understand them. But unlike poems they keep crapping themselve...

Friends Catalog

1) The Sister This is the friend you grew up with. You guys probably went to the same primary school, kept malice with the same people(i remember that all too well),talked about your escapades in the toilet with the boy that you like(did that too!). You have been together for so long, your mom knows her and her family. You are even able to tell her 'the soup your mom cooked is not sweet today’, she respects a.k.a fears your dad, loves your mom ,adores you kid sister, teases your elder brother. She helps you sell at your shop without complaining. This are the type of friends that even if you don't see each other in a while it doesn't matter because when you do, it is like u guys haven’t been apart 2) The Divergent (I love that movie) Friends that are so different from you, they are somewhat opposite of who you are. These can be in reference to their religion, their interests, culture, their perspectives etc, this friend is one of the most valuable friends in your life, t...

kokoroko Crooner Kefffe Don Momoh is dead

Sad news, award-winning gospel singer, Kefee  Momoh, has been confirmed dead. She passed on in the early hours of today, after being in coma for weeks in an hospital abroad She went into a coma, after collapsing on a 14-hour flight on her way to Chicago. According to some sources a close family revealed she was diagnosed of having pre-eclampsia(a pregnancy characterised by hypertension, damage of the lining. Of the blood vessels of the lungs, kidney, brain .This can lead to organ failure and convulsion). Kefee I think became real famous for her gospel songs ‘Branama’ and ‘Kokoroko’. She won several awards including the best collaboration Headies..I heard she just finished studying Video directing and editing abroad. Very sad news, May her soul rest in peace  (Amen).

RELATIONSHIPS IN OUR 20s*rolls eyes*

Dating at my age is kind of weird or I should probably say awkward(you don’t think so?)..Ok let me explain, at this age you have just started to find yourself, you have just started navigating your life the exact way you want it, throwing in someone else’s emotion into the circle can be pretty tiring et tricky especially when you still cant deal with all of yours. That been said, there are plenty good side to dating at this stage ,this is the stage you would actually find out that Love has no definition, it s just a sweet high feeling(i should know…yimu).even through the joy, upsets and heartbreaks you get to establish the type of love you want…that I can tell you surpasses all of the awkward. Wearing the brand he wants: I am not talking about clothes here, I am talking about how he perceives u.you see at this stage how you see you andhow he sees you are two different things and I have noticed in virtually all relationships that you start to be what he thinks about you( it’s not like...

Cut Throat Expectations?!!!

according to a dictionary online expectation is the long-run average value of a variable over many independent repetition of an experiment...feeling like an economics Bsc degree holder*swag*,it is also The act or state of expecting or looking forward to an event as about to happen and is expected to happen..in yoruba word 'pata pata Shaa eleyin gbodo shele'...  Nobody wants to fail, nobody wants to loose face in front of family and friends, i thought I was above that feelin. You see, i like to think of myself as strong willed, independent and other words to qualify a feminist (yea, in league with Lorde,Chinamada,Bey and Co..loool) but I recently found out I am human,i am effing scared to fail. I think I have been sort of protected all my life(not literally),i haven't exactly lacked anything..so from my parents/friends perspective 'what fuccing reasons do I have to fail or fall short?!.. Sighs!,i am through with a major phase in life but I recently discovered I am ...

Just one of those 'i love my mom' talk

According to the Oxford dictionary of current English (4th edition) a mother is a female parent and according to that same source a parent is a father or mother. Is that really enough to describe a mother? That to me is the underdefination of the century (feeling scholary, kids at home that is not a word)..Hehehe. Well I am not trying to redefine, but my mom is so much more. She is the reason why I am a better version of myself. Well if you think about everything she has done and is still doing it sometimes doesn’t feel like it...Shoot! That came out wrong, we all know how moms can be naaaww but at the end of the day she is the only I can trust to be there. When I was young I didn’t stay at home very much cause of school and all, I feel like just when I needed a mother's guidance I went to boarding school. In boarding school you learn in a general terms so.... I always come home with an arrogant air around me ,I was very lazy(still am),I was an insolent child, rude to anyon...
Chandelier is a song written by Sia Fuller off her sixth album' 1000 form of fear' 2014.the track is the first release off that album and the writing is amazing!!! which is an understatement ofcourse. Sia has written for stars like Madonna, Beyonce, Rihanna ,she has also made some appearances on hit records by David Guetta, ,Flo Rida …….so we know her writing skills has to be dope to write for this artists. I for one am glad she hasn’t passed on all of her talents on other people(YES!!!) … Chandelier ! Chandelier!!,..this track is one of those ballads that mean different things to different people,I am sure If my old anty listens to it she wld think she can relate..hehehehehe So with my little understanding I am going to break it up in my own way, leave your opinion after, thank you. Chandelier I think chandelier represents a sort of high,a high point probably in a negative way. Party girls don't get hurt Can't feel anything, when will I learn I push it ...
at what point do you actually claim that you are grown?, I know my fair share of people the male species to be exact and most claim to be grown....I think the term grown this days have being associated with height, class, friends, age e.t.c.....I think been grown is so much more...it has to do with your mentality, you are not grown because u think 'Yea!,I am 25 ,I can do what I want my mom doesn't have a say again' (I feel like I am taking jabbz at some people I know,I can hear their voices. ehehe).... when you can admit to your mistakes, endure the consequences, learn from them when you can be responsible for yourselve and for other people when you can respect the perspective of someone smaller I could keep going but you basically get the idea Been Grown is so much more..and I am still learning
